Baltic Sea Circle Rally 2021

Baltic Sea Circle Rally 2022

Postponed Rally

The Superlative Adventure Club, the organizer of the rally, has given us the option to postpone our race until 2022. After a few weeks of discussion, we have decided to take them up on this offer. Cris and I really needed an adventure and were really looking forward to the possibility of racing through the Baltic in a few months, but without the vaccine, I don’t think this would be possible. Currently, Russia isn’t offering entry visas and I doubt without even having our first shots we would be allowed to easily enter the other countries. Sadly we will have to wait another year for our opportunity to race the Baltic Sea Circle Rally. Read more…

Baltic Sea Circle Rally 2021

The Baltic Sea Circle Rally is a 7,500km (4,660 miles) 16-day race through Scandinavia, the Arctic Circle, Russia, and the Baltic states beginning and ending in Hamburg, Germany. To qualify to race you must have a vehicle that is at minimum 20 years old, and you must have raised a minimum of €750 for a charity of your choice. During the race there is no GPS allowed, the adventure is finding your own way! Don’t worry Mom, we will have “SAC Track” a downloadable tracking app, so you will be able to follow us along the way! If you want more info on the rally click here.

Cris and I have shared many crazy road trips over the years and this seemed like an awesome adventure we couldn’t pass up. We will be raising money for Crew Nation, a global relief fund for the countless behind-the-scenes crew members that have lost their income due to COVID-19 and the shutdown of the entertainment business.

The Baltic Sea Circle Rally begins in just over 10 months, so we have plenty of time to raise as much money as we can. If this sounds interesting, please scroll to the bottom of the page and donate!

The Cause

Crew NAtion

Cris and I met working for Cirque Du Soleil in Argentina, an opportunity that I’m not sure we would have had if it wasn’t for the Entertainment Industry. In fact, it is the sole reason that we have been able to travel so much. Going from city to city, and country to country was our way of life until not too long ago, and while we made the choice to stop traveling for work so much, this is still the way of life for most of our closest friends.

No one could have predicted the crippling effect that COVID-19 would have on the entertainment business, until a few months ago, it would have been unfathomable to think about a summer with no events at all. But here we find ourselves…

Crew Nation is a global relief fund that is supporting not just the artists, but also the crew, the venue staff, and many more of the behind-the-scenes staff that it takes to host your favorite events. According to a recent study by Challenger, Gray, and Christmas*, as of March 2020,  over 83,000 people in the entertainment industry have lost their jobs. This topic is particularly sensitive to Cris and me, many of the people we know are now struggling to find work. Crew Nation is providing $1000 subsidies to people in need. Though we probably will not be the biggest donators, we do feel that this is a worthy cause! Find out more about the Crew Nation here. If you can, please scroll down and donate now!
